After years of spreading natural wine love in the Bay Area, Cassidy Miller dove headfirst into the industry in 2020, joining Vinca Minor during a fiery California season. When smoke threatened grapes, the team got creative with apples, sparking the birth of Buddy/Buddy—a playful experiment co-fermenting grapes, apples, and pears. Cassidy hunts down organic and biodynamic fruits (mostly from Mendocino), letting them ferment naturally without fining, filtering, or much sulfur. What began as a Vinca Minor collab has blossomed into Cassidy's own venture, still crafted in their Berkeley space.
