Tart acidity, rocky minerality, zesty hints of citrus and tropical fruit, and a touch of tannins. Harvested from siliceous soils. In Alsace, siliceous soil combined with clay and other minerals gives wines a unique mineral flavor, balanced by ripe fruit and acidity. High in silica, these soils produce wines with a refined, sophisticated character and a lively acidity.
Grapes from a 35-year-old vineyard. The wine is fermented for 4 months in both steel and concrete tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation and 8 months of aging on fine lees. Located in the charming village of Saint-Hippolyte, only 20 minutes north of Colmar.
Sons of Wine is the creation of Farid Yahimi, a former digital communications expert from Nancy, France, who found his true calling in natural winemaking. Introduced to the world of natural wine by his cousin Carole Yahimi, founder of the French Association of Natural Wine (AVN), Farid learned directly from pioneers like Pierre Overnoy and Marcel Lapierre. Eschewing formal training, he embraced a hands-on, intuitive approach, learning through trial, error, and deep respect for the land.
After years of experimentation, Farid released his first commercial vintage in 2010, and by 2017 he was bottling 5,000 bottles under the name Sons of Wine—inspired by Sons of Anarchy and his love for motorcycles. Each cuvée tells a story and is rooted in a specific terroir, made primarily from sourced biodynamic grapes (90%) and organic grapes (10%) from trusted growers across Europe.
Now based in Ribeauvillé, Farid owns just 2 hectares but works with a wide range of rare and diverse grapes from old vines and unique soils, allowing for creativity and adaptability. His winemaking philosophy is non-interventionist: no additives, no filtration, and deep humility in the cellar. For Farid, great wine starts with strong human relationships and ends with letting nature speak.
