Thibault Ducroux, Morgon Corcelette, Gamay 2022

This is Beaujolais (Morgon) with both depth and elegance-rich in fruit, yet precise and beautifully lifted.

 

From the first swirl, it’s wonderfully perfumed: think mulberries, raspberries, and blue flowers, with a touch of spice and that signature “wet stone” minerality. On the palate, it’s smooth and flowing, with a supple, almost powdery texture. There’s plenty of juicy fruit here, but it’s kept in check by a fine structure and a mineral, slightly dusty finish that gives it real finesse.

 

The fruit comes from the Corcelette vineyard-an old-vine plot (around 80 years old) sitting high on a granite plateau. That combination of altitude and soil brings both concentration and freshness, giving the wine its balance of power and clarity.
The result? A Morgon that’s layered but easy to love-ripe yet focused, structured yet silky, and seriously impressive.
