Using the name of the farmhouse, the Celler Bellaserra winery emerged as a project to recover the origins of the vineyard located on the estate; and also with the intention of developing quality wines with a Catalan identity, fully representing its soils and land.

Its name dates back long before 1448, when Eulalia Serra , the owner of the estate, adopted the name Casa Serra , which she later changed to Can Planes when she married. Thus, its founders adopted this name to contribute the history and identity that characterizes the winery today.

The winery's estate used to have 183 acres of land, which was gradually lost to urban development, leaving less land for cultivation today. They also own La Masía Can Planes, a manor house that houses a winery renovated for winemaking, with sheds and corrals that reflect the agricultural activity that once took place in the area.
